About us

We started life in 1951 being nothing more than a shed where bus drivers could make a cup of tea. Growing in size, it soon became a meeting place for the bus depot employees, and consequently the Midland Red Social Club was born. When the depot closed in January 1984, the club was taken over by the members, becoming a non profit establishment, and was opened to the public. In 2007 the club changed its name and became the Sutton Sports & Social Club. Amenities include snooker and pool tables, large screen TV and a stage and dancefloor, with the club boasting very successful darts, crib, and dominoes teams. Weekend entertainment includes groups, solo artists, discos and karaokes with bingo on Sunday evenings.

For a list of up and coming entertainment click on "What's On" at the top of the page.

Membership

Membership is open to the public and costs £15.00 per year (£9.00 if over 65), and being a family club this covers the member, their partner and any children under the age of 18. Furthermore, with the club being a member of the C.I.U., for an extra £4.00 per year you can purchase a C.I.U. card and gain entry to over 2400 working mens clubs throughout the country.
